I set out to be a biotechnology engineer. Somewhere in a neuroscience lab, that evolved.
Some experiments were repetitive enough to automate. The tools already existed. So I learned them, built four instruments from scratch, developed a data analysis program, and got back to doing more research. It was the most interesting problem I had solved. So I decided to learn how to design and build products.
I joined a fast-paced startup to understand how digital products come together, then an enterprise SaaS company to understand how they work at scale. Then a masters in Human Computer Interaction, where I focused on designing for the people all of it is built for. Each one taught me something the previous one couldn't.
Now I work across product, interaction, and spatial design on problems with no obvious starting point or predetermined answer.
When I'm not designing, I'm probably painting something weird, go-karting, or visiting museums.
